Truman Good
Duties:
Adult Bible study leader of an open sharing class meeting at 9am on Sunday mornings. I also share in providing direction and general oversight of Grace Covenant Church occasionally preaching in Pastor Greg’s absence.
Spouse:
I am married to Beverly, the best cook in the county (my opinion). In addition to being a great nurse, shopper and craft person this pretty lady is loads of fun and loves to travel and find a bargain.
Children:
We have 4 adult married children Glenn and Stefanie who live in Ft Worth, Trevor and Alison who live in Chicago and Michelle and Garrett who live in Ohio, and Audrey and Ben who live in Nashville. We have 6 beautiful grandchildren.
Vocation:
I am a Sr. Systems Analyst at Sarasota Memorial Hospital where I have worked most of my adult life.
Favorite Scripture:
The Lord loves a joyful heart. Ps. 89:15-16 says “Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! O Lord they walk in the light of Thy countenance. In Thy name they rejoice all the day, and by Thy Righteousness they are exalted.” NASB.
Ps. 37: 4-5 says “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your to the Lord: Trust also in Him and he will do it”. NASB.
How I got involved at Grace:
I had the privilege of being part of the beginning of Grace Covenant Church with my wife and some good friends in 1999.
Some Favorite Things:
Spending time with my wife and family. We love to cook together and love to have people in our home. I am also a “car guy”. I am currently restoring a pickup truck that belonged to Bev’s dad. I also own my father’s first new truck (which is still in Indiana waiting for me to work on it), I play the string bass and love to sing and enjoy all kinds of music.
My Hope and Vision for Grace:
That first by example and then through teaching the Word of God and personal relationships we are able to help each person understand how much God values us. God sent His Son Jesus to take the burden of our sin so that we can live in a state of acceptance and Grace. I desire for the people of Grace to be a singing people, expressing the joy and gratefulness of heart in song.
