John Yax

Duties:
Teaching, working with the sound system, prayer and study and helping provide direction and general oversight and administration of Grace Covenant Church

Spouse:
Cathy, my first and only true love, and I have enjoyed 30 years of marriage. She keeps me grounded and motivated to be always improving in all aspects of my life.

Children:
We have 3 terrific sons, Jeremy, Aaron and Jared. Jeremy, our oldest, is married to Stephanie and they take care of our 2 grand-daughters, Hannah and Miranda. They live in Nashville and we are now piling up some frequent-flier miles to spend time with them. Aaron, our middle son, is married to Cori Wilson of Sarasota, giving us our second daughter, and they reside here in Sarasota. Jared is a student at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and will soon be making some life decisions.

Favorite Scripture:
In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:2 & 3.

Education: Associates Degree in Business Management; American International University.

How I got involved at Grace:
I had the privilege of being part of the beginning of Grace Covenant Church with my wife and some good friends in 1999.

Some Favorite Things:
Spending time with my wife. We’ve recently “discovered” the west in our last two vacations and plan on traveling there again on future vacations. The Grace Covenant family has been an important and integral part of our life for 7 years. I enjoy boating & fishing, and my wife is my favorite fishing partner, and I also enjoy woodworking. I still have some doors and drawers to build for that last project. projects.

My hope and vision for Grace:
It’s been said that “you can’t take anything with you when you leave this world”. At Grace Covenant we build relationships for eternity because we know that our relationships with other believers will be eternal, just as our relationship is, with our Lord Jesus Christ. As individuals and families become involved with Grace Covenant my desire is that their lives will become richer because of the sound biblical teaching, combined with the support and family spirit that surrounds Grace.
