Isn’t it easy to get caught up in the moment? You know what I mean, to live in such a way that next year, or even next month seem so far away that we assume that we need not concern our selves with it today. Life has a way of filling the spaces that we would like to reserve for our own private use. Dreams, plans and aspirations can unfortunately remain just what they are, “Dreams, plans and aspirations”. 100 years from now what will today matter? 100 years from now what will the convictions that guide our lives today really mean? I have a dream (heard that before somewhere), that my family, will meet me in Heaven. That they will find saving faith in Jesus. My wife will be there; My kids, Heather and Mark will be there. Easton, my amazing grand-daughter will be there. We are still praying for Elijah my tender-hearted grand-son, and Emma, my beautiful Autistic grand-daughter to be saved. Sometimes I find myself so distracted by life that I forget it’s purpose, to meet and love the Lord, and to take others to the cross so they can meet and love the Lord. 100 years from now, if the Lord tarries, I want my great, great, great grand kids to be praying for their family members to meet us in Heaven! I want us all to get there! When the roll, is called up yonder. Praise God! Life is about living, but more importantly it is about Jesus! Do yourself a great service, look around and see what is demanding your most valuable asset, your time. Then judge your priorities, and adjust them to align with God’s will. Love the Lord first. Love your family second. Love others third. Make a living doing your job. It is amazing the clarity this brings.

I pray that when the roll is called, it will be a day of rejoicing for you and yours!

I am Pappaw

What a wonderful post! I’m so glad Heather sent her readers here today. Thank you for the reminder. I am blessed that most of my family has already made their reservations. My daughters, age 4 and 2, love Jesus as much as they can at their ages, and I pray that I have the joy of seeing them make those decisions as well. There are others (my BIL for example) that I’m still praying and hoping for. Bless you for sharing.

    Hey Greg!
Thanks for the reminder today. So easy to get caught up in life and forget that life is about pointing others to Christ. Love you all and miss you!

    Hi Pappaw,

I went to visit Heather this morning and as she is not feeling so good right now, she sent us here. This is a rest-stop post for me today. Priorities are the oil that makes our engines run smooth and I need to be reminded daily to check my oil (Gods). Thank you for being such a wonderful influence and father to Heather. She loves you so much and I know the same is true for you. The Lord bless your day today and touch Heather with new strength and restoration.

Thank you for this. Such an important reminder. Why is it we need reminding?

    Bless you,
    Amy

Wow. I don’t ever want to get so busy that I forget to stop and praise my Lord and King. I never want to forget that my family is my ministry. Thank you for the reminder.

Another great post. I already love your daughter and her family and pray for Heather’s healing and for her entire family - including you and your wife, of course.

A great admonition. A clearly, you’re leaving an amazing legacy for your children and grandchildren.

    Thank you for the reminder.

100 years from now I pray my testimony lives on through the lives of those I love and that I’m catching up with my sister and my nana who’ve gone before me…

another visitor by way of your daughter Heather… thanks for the reminder too, praying daily for HUGE family reunions in Heavern, dancing and singing at the feet of Jesus.

    Alice the Brit,
but also in Florida, but East Coast!

honestly I DO know how to spell Heaven!!!

Well, AMEN brother! That is all I have to say :) My kiddos need a godly pappaw….are you taking applications? lol

I don’t think that there are too many days that go by where I don’t think about how fast time is going by and what really matters. Does it matter really what kind of car I drive? or if my ring is “pure” gold? what am I accomplishing if I am not doing it for the Lord?

But yet I find it so difficult to hear God and what He wants for me. I have started baking for people that don’t have much, ( I just think I answered my own Question.

100 years from now or 50 I won’t be here so I want to run the race.

I am keeping this entry so I can forward it to someone I want to explain myself to.

    Thanks,

    Marie

    Hi,
I came over from Heather’s site and just want to say how true your words are and how they spoke to me today! I went through cancer just last year and I remember thinking that nothing mattered except having my family with me one day in Heaven if the Lord chose to end my life here early. Our family is praying daily for Heather and we are so glad to know she has such an awesome family!

P.S. My Dad is a pastor too and I am so thankful for him the way I know Heather is for you!

I wish you were my Dad. Oh the blessing of having a Daddy who loves Jesus. I would rather have that than a billion dollars.

Thanks Heather’s Daddy for reminding me this world is not my home, I’m just a passin’ thru. I am hoping for a BIG reunion as well in Hallelujah Square! In His Grip, Lynnebee
p.s. You have an amazing family!

Blessings to you Pappaw. And bless your sweet dtr, Heather, who sent me here. Thank you for the reminder and encouragment.

    Greg,

As you know, our lives are full of the good, bad and indifferent. But, if we really believe, we should be filled with joy at the thought of a blessed eternity! “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those that love him.” 1 Cor. 2:9

    Love you, man,
    Bob

    Amen and Amen!
    Blessings,
    ~Toni~

Heather sent me here. Thank you for a wonderful and beautiful post! I look forward to that day where there is no dawning and no sunset where I can stand before Jesus and see his face. And all my family and loved ones will be there in heaven with me!

You are a great servant and someday you will hear “Well done, thy good and faithful servant!”

Thank you for all you do and blessings to you and your family.

Over her by way of Heather.

I just heard a sermon on a very similar topic. The sermon was titled “Why didn’t you tell me?”. The minister was ultimately referring to the fact that he’d been in NYC and standing at the top of one of the towers. When they (the group he was with) came down, he found “a real live NYPD officer”. He put on her helmet and climbed on her motorcycle just to get a pic. He said he felt God telling him to give her a gospel tract, but he didn’t. Exactly one month later, the date rolled over to 9/11/01. He couldn’t get over that he’d not said something to her about her soul.

May we never forget to “live out loud”. May we never forget to tell people about Him and the impact He will make on a life. May we always witness to people, and when it’s necessary, use words. May we all come to a saving faith in Jesus.

Thank you for your service to further The Kingdom. Preach the Word. Never back down. Press on, brother. I’ll be praying for you.

Wow. So simple. So true. I just asked for prayer, last night at our community group, for my walk with the Lord. I find prioritizing my life my greatest difficulty. Being newly rededicated to my faith, I find it overwhelming at times to find my place. I want to be a great example of Christ to my children and friends and family. It’s hard work and I’m up for the challenge, but it’s so easy to fall back. Anyway, thank you for this great encouragement and simple truth! God bless you!!!

Your daughter, Heather, sent me to your blog and I’m so glad that she did! I gain such inspiration and spiritual nourishment from reading Heather’s posts and I know your blog will be the same so I’m bookmarking you now!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and convictions!

Hi~ another one from Heather’s site. Loved the post….great reminders for us and our loved ones. Heather has been such a daily blessing to me. You have an awesome family. May God bless each and every one of you.

    Hello Heather’s dad.
What an amazing daughter you have!
I am so glad that she sent us to your blog.
    Such a good post!
I will come everyday to read more.

Heather has been a real encouragment to “Pilgrim Pals” blog and she is part of it.

The Lord will surely bless you in this, and just know that we will continue to pray for dear Heather and for her whole family…..Your’s truly, Teresa Shirkie

    Hi Pappaw!

I will be on that roll along with my family. I have been so blessed by the strength and encouragement of your daughter. What an amazing living testimony she is for our Savior. I know that she has repeatedly given thanks to Him for the wonderful family support that you all have been. I pray His will in all of your lives.

    In Christ,
    Lori
