I Bow Amazed In The Presence!

Over the past several weeks I have been teaching on the “Simple Things” of Christianity; things like Hope, Unity, what it means to be “In Christ”; and this Sunday I am preparing to tackle the easily defined topic of Faith. I use the term “Simple” with a wink and a nod. Hope, Unity, Identity and Faith are the pillars that hold up the house. These are also the very areas of greatest need “in my sometimes humble opinion” for Christian’s to shore up in their Biblical knowledge and life application. I Love To Preach and Teach God’s Word. One of the greatest blessings of preparing a sermon or Bible study is the blessing of studying the Lord’s Word. It is refreshing, challenging, convicting, and cleansing, all at the same time. I am often taken to worship in my spirit and find myself singing or humming hymns that I grew up with as a young believer. Songs of our faith with words like:

“My hope is based on nothing less, then Jesus Blood and Righteousness!”

“Bind us together Lord, bind us together, with cords that cannot be broken.”

“We are the people of God, called by His Name, called from the darkness, delivered from shame, one holy race, saints everyone, because of the Blood of Christ Jesus, The Son.”

“When peace like a river attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul!”

Bible Study, what a great privilege that is often overlooked or seen as unnecessary. Too many people have the foolish attitude of shallow ground faith. “I’ll let the preacher tell me what I need to know and what I say I believe.” Unfortunately when the first significantly hard storm comes they are washed away by the deluge of the enemy, or the hot searing heat of trials causes them to whither and fade away.

Our Heavenly Father knows we need to be in His presence. He knows we need the fellowship of His Spirit. He knows we need to worship, that we need to know our weakness. He knows we need Him more then life.

I love you Lord, and I lift my voice, to worship you, oh my soul rejoice!

How Do You Define “False”, As In Prophet?

In my previous post titled “Finding Purpose For Life” I made a conviction of mine public, that the line of God’s Prophets stopped with Jesus. I did not state this, but did state that many groups today claim special revelation by their prophets that have in the past or are still to this day receiving God’s revelation for their “Special and Favored” cluster of followers. A person commented about how they were “distressed” because I stated that the Seventh-day Adventist Church was in my opinion a group who followed a False Prophet. I will stand on that comment; I do believe that Ellen G. White was a False Prophet. Read this site to better understand about the 50 different areas that the teaching of Ellen G. White contradict the Word of God.

My differences range from who the S.D.A. claim Jesus to be, the Christ of the Bible, or the Christ of her special revelation.
2 Cor. 11:4 “For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully.”
Galatians 1:6 “I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel;”

Why all the extra prohibitions in what the S.D.A. claim was revealed to Ellen G. White for the “Faithful” to be more righteous. Believers are saved by Grace Alone! Ephes. 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; [9] not as a result of works, that no one should boast.”

Jesus told Peter to STOP with his nonsense about dietary restrictions, why does she claim that they came back into Doctrine? Acts 10:9-16 “And on the next day, as they were on their way, and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray. [10] And he became hungry, and was desiring to eat; but while they were making preparations, he fell into a trance; [11] and he beheld the sky opened up, and a certain object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four corners to the ground, [12] and there were in it all kinds of four-footed animals and crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the air. [13] And a voice came to him, “Arise, Peter, kill and eat!” [14] But Peter said, “By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean.” [15] And again a voice came to him a second time, “What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy.” [16] And this happened three times; and immediately the object was taken up into the sky.”
1 Cor. 8:8 “But food will not commend us to God; we are neither the worse if we do not eat, nor the better if we do eat.”
Romans 14:17 “for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

To Whom Is The Sabbath given with it’s restrictions; The Jews, not the Gentiles!
Col. 2:16 “Therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day—“

What happens to those who do not accept Jesus as Savior? They do not cease to exist!
Rev. 20:11-15 “And I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. [12] And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. [13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. [14] And death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. [15] And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”

And do we even need to discuss the 1844 debacle, or the numerous other WRONG dates given by the S.D.A.’s for the return of Jesus.
Matthew 25:13 “Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.

Is it confusing, Yes, Is It Truth, NO! The Old Testament gave a clear test for a prophet of God, everything they proclaimed had to come to pass, or else! All throughout Ellen G. Whites writings she claims that what she says is the direct revelation of God given by either vision, spirit, or discernment. She also claims the revelations to have equal authority as that of the Ten Commandments, and Words of Christ. Also she declares that any scripture and doctrine can only be interpreted and understood through the revelation of her writings. Doesn’t the Word of God somewhere say that a women should not take authority over men? How does she think she can exercise and claim authority over the Word of God?

As a pastor I firmly believe that the Lord has given His Word in the 66 books we know today as The Holy Bible. I use as my translation for study and teaching the New American Standard Version. In my opinion it is the most accurate “Translation”, not transliteration, available today. It is consistently accurate to a word for word translation of the original languages used in the ancient texts of scripture.

The Seventh-day Adventists believed they had a need to write their own faulty work titled “The Clear Word Bible”, go to http://www.ratzlaf.com/pdf%20files/4-17-01%20Deliberate%20Distortions%20in%20SDA.pdf to see the problems of this perversion of God’s Word.

I understand that sometimes things said can be painful. Truly, I also see the need to measure your word’s so you don’t offend. Having said that, the Bible says that the True Gospel is an offense, and foolishness to those who are perishing. I will proclaim the truth of the old Christian Hymn, “On Christ The Solid Rock I stand, All Other Ground Is Sinking Sand”. Where else can one stand, and to whom else can one go?

I do not wish to harm anyone, or hurt anyone’s feelings. If what I say causes distress, I know how to remedy the anxiety; Seek the Truth of God’s Word; Not Ellen G’s White Lies. The Truth Will Set You Free!

Because of God’s Grace and Mercy through the sacrifice and Blood of His Only Risen Son, Who sits at God’s Right Hand, Jesus the Christ.

P.S. Why would Paul tell people that because they were not mature, they couldn’t eat the “Meat of God’s Word”? 1 Cor. 3:2 “I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able,”

2 Cor. 11:10-15 “As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine will not be stopped in the regions of Achaia. [11] Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do! Finding Purpose For Life

Imagine for a moment that you’re building a house. You hire a building contractor, but he never consults the blueprints drawn up by your architect, your designer. He works without a plan. An unwise move–because the contractor needs to know where to lay the foundation, erect the walls and place the windows. Only then will the home look the way it was intended.

The same can be said of life. How can we try to build our life without first consulting the great architect of life, the one who created us for a wonderful purpose? The Bible says, “We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them” (Romans 8:28).

Furthermore, there is more to be gained by living according to God’s plan. True fulfillment and meaning in life is found in God. That’s why the philosopher St. Augustine said centuries ago, “You have made us for yourself, O God, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you.”

By asking Jesus, God’s Son, to be the center of your life, you will discover the very purpose for which God created you. There is no thing or no one else who can do this–no religion, no philosophy, no person. Just Jesus. He said of himself, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

We live at a time in history where there is every distraction imaginable from the message of God and Christ. Also we have more false prophets today then at any other time known to man, and they are accepted and defended fiercely by those who have drank the Kool-aid of their deception and lies. From the Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Seventh Day Adventists, The Mormons, The Nation of Islam, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Bahia’s, Krishna’s, New Agers’, Unitarians, Ping Pong’s, Ding Dongs, Ding-a-lings, and on and on and on.
Most people will just shrug their shoulders and say “Kay-sara-sara”; God’s Word says in John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Jesus made this claim John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.

His Word also says in Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope.”

So, if your looking for the answer, trying to find your place in this world; start by asking Jesus, the one who created you for His good pleasure, what it is you’re supposed to be doing in this thing called life.
I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

Child of the King; Not a Monkey’s uncle

I have been reading my daughter’s blog (EspeciallyHeather.com)and biting my tongue over the comments made by some “Professing” Christian evolutionists. Even the thought of the two concepts linked together as a singular point of debate gives me a brain cramp. How do the two totally different thoughts become joined in anyway, shape, or form? On the one hand you are told to believe that everything is the result of a random event, while the other position tells the greatest story ever told. The God of the universe put into motion the plan of the ages. One position tells us that there is no such thing as good or evil. The other side lets us see the stark difference between righteousness and sin. Evolution tells us that by some freak accident the Homo-Erectus rose to the top of the food chain after evolving from a puddle of goop. The Creation story tells us that God created us in His image so that we could know Him and have fellowship with Him. In my opinion Evolution is the lie that has led many to conclude that there is no God. If someone can believe that everything that is, became as a result of a giant celestial explosion (where did the stuff that blew up come from) and has become a rather orderly accident. Study the laws of thermal dynamics and try to make them align with the lie of evolution. They can not be conjoined. I know why the lie of the monkey’s uncle is so appealing to so many. They think they will not be accountable to the Heavenly Father for the life He gave them to live! Some say that we Christians should not let such insignificant issues divide us while there are so many important issues for us to march on. The Bible tells me “How can two walk together except they are agreed”? I will stand with those that hold the Cross of Calvary as the focus of creation, and the truth of God’s Word as the Bedrock on which to build our lives! I will not be deterred by those who think they have relatives who used to swing through the trees. I’m not trying to be ugly, but let’s at least be realistic about our faith. I am sure that some people who read this will be upset. Sorry, but I am not so much concerned about someones feelings. I am concerned about someones World-view. If it is, God made it period.
